This year, the first weekend of fall brings one of our favorite local festivals, the 5th Annual Southampton SeptemberFest, taking place Friday, September 25th through Sunday, September 27th. The Hamptons tradition opens on Friday with a Kick-Off Cocktail Party in Agawam Park, followed by two days of entertaining activities for all ages.
Saturday highlights will include a Harvest Day Fair, presented by Southampton Historical Museum, featuring a story teller, old time crafts and camp out with militia, seasonal fare from local eateries, a special “Star Wars” themed display from Maniac Pumpkin Carvers, the Taste of Southampton chowder contest, and live music.
Schedule of events for Saturday, September 26th:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Local artisans will offer fresh produce, baked goods, and crafts during a Farmers Market on the grounds of Southampton Arts Center (25 Jobs Lane, Southampton)
11:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. – Concerts in the Park will showcase live music from Hopefully Forgiven, Black & Sparrow, The Lynn Blue Band, Dan Bailey Tribe and The Next Level Band
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Fun for the Kids will feature face painting, airbrush tattoos, pumpkin decorating and more on the grounds of Southampton Arts Center
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Stock up on your favorite reads during a Friends of the Library Book Sale on the grounds of Southampton Arts Center
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Celebrate life in the 19th Century with demonstrations and activities for the whole family during a Harvest Day Fair at Southampton Historical Museum (17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton)
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Art Vendors in the Park will feature vendors exhibiting paintings, sculptures, photography and more
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Take a scenic ride on the Agawam Ferry during Agawam Ferry Rides
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come visit SeptemberFest’s Educational Corner with Quogue Wildlife Refuge, Solarize Southampton, Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and more at Agawam Park
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Learn about Sea Scout Ship 908’s incredible environmental project during a Conscience Point Hatchery – Oyster Display at Agawam Park
11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Take a ride on the Wells Fargo Stagecoach, departing from Agawam Park
12 p.m. – Enjoy juggling, beatbox and comedy from Jester Jim on the grounds of Southampton Arts Center
12 p.m. – Cast your vote for which chowder is the “Best of the Hamptons” during a Chowder Contest at Agawam Park
12 to 5 p.m. – Come watch as Maniac Pumpkin Carvers work their carving magic in true Maniac Pumpkin style at Agawam Park
12 to 5 p.m. – Stroll through the Village and enjoy live music by Eastbound Freight, Jim Turner, Mick Hargreaves and Cassandra House
12 to 5 p.m. – Enjoy roaming performances on Main Street and Jobs Lane of juggling, stilt-walking and more
12 to 6 p.m. – Indulge with a wide array of food and drink at “Taste of the East End” at Agawam Park
12 to 8 p.m. Lights, Camera, Action! 50 Years of Film in Posters at Southampton Arts Center will showcase of five decades in film as seen through iconic posters and images courtesy of Posteritati, one of the world’s premiere collectors of movie art from the silent era to modern classics
1:30 p.m. – Enjoy juggling, beatbox and comedy from Jester Jim on the grounds of Southampton Arts Center
