On Saturday, October 10th, leash up your pup and embark on a leisurely community wander during the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) 22nd Annual “Stroll to the Sea” Dog Walk.
“The ARF Dog Walk is great community event to help raise awareness of ARF while having fun with your dog,” noted Jamie Berger, Director of Marketing & Communications at ARF. “We always look forward to seeing the former ARFan’s return with their forever families, as well as all the dogs that participate, to support the work that we do.”
From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., participants will take a two-mile walk to the ocean, followed by a morning of fun at East Hampton Historical Society’s Mulford Farm. At 11 a.m., the post-walk entertainment and awards ceremony begin. Attendees can enter their four-legged friend in a variety of contests like dog/owner look alike, the pooch who can smooch and stupid pet tricks, with the grand prize winners taking home a crystal dog by Baccarat. Dogs who still have endless energy after the walk can show-off their athletic side on the dog agility course. Walkers can refresh with Starbucks Coffee and treat themselves to Dreesen’s Famous Donuts while they listen to live music from singer/songwriter Sandy Rapp.
Walkers who raise $250 or more in pledges will receive a special gift, courtesy of Isaac Mizrahi New York. Those who register as a “Top Dog” (contributing $250) or a “Great Dane” (contributing $500) will be invited to attend the exclusive Kick-Off Cocktail Party on Friday, October 9th at 6 p.m., hosted by Michael Breault and ARF board and committee member Gordon Hoppe at the East Hampton waterfront home of Patrick Campion and Richard Ziegelasch.
ARF’s “Stroll to the Sea” Dog Walk will begin and end at Mulford Farm. Pre-registration is $30 for adults ($35 on the day of the event) and free for children under 16 with a registered adult. All registrants will receive free nail clippings for their dogs, an event tee shirt with artwork designed by Isaac Mizrahi and tote bag. A rain date is set for Sunday, October 11th.
The annual event is intended to encourage responsible dog ownership and awareness of ARF.
