"IGHL is excited to be working with World T.E.A.M Sports to bring disabled athletes and able bodied athletes together for our 2nd Annual Coastal Team Challenge," said IGHL CEO Walter Stockton. "With the support of American Portfolios and Time Capitol, this year's event will be bigger and better than last year!"

Starting Tuesday, August 4th, Coastal Team Challenge participants will embark on a 22-mile, two-day kayak trip. The 2nd annual event will once again feature able-bodied athletes and developmentally-disabled and physically-challenged athletes (with 11 coaches, 11 athletes on 2-person kayaks).

Attendees will meet for the first leg of the race (12 nautical miles) on Tuesday, August 4th at 7 a.m. at the Westhampton Beach Marina. Participants will depart from the Westhampton Beach Marina at 8 a.m., rest at Pike Beach at 9:30 a.m., and stop again at Smith Point County Park at 12:45 p.m., which is the final destination for the day. Dinner will be held at Smith Point County Park at 4 p.m.

For more than 20 years, World T.E.A.M Sports, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, has used athletics to challenge disabled men, women and children to accomplish goals they never dreamt were possible. World T.E.A.M Sports changes lives through sports, and has organized events for disabled and able bodied citizens, including mountain climbing, white water rafting, bicycling, and more.
