Aside from spending Memorial Day with loved ones, or thinking about and remembering loved ones, you can also spend the holiday weekend with some new, furry friends.
Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) is holding an open house on Monday, May 25th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is the first year that ARF will be open on Memorial Day, and they are offering 50 percent off adoption fees.
“Many families in past years have stopped by, only to be disappointed that we were closed,” Michele Forrester, ARF’s Senior Director of Operations, said. “So, going forward the ARF Adoption Center will be open on certain federal holidays including Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, in hopes of finding more forever homes for our cats and dogs.”
In addition to the discounted adoption price, adopters will also receive an ARF beach umbrella or beach towel.
ARF was founded in 1974 and the organization is funded by private donations. Every year, they place more than 1,000 cats and dogs into loving homes.
ARF Adoption Center is located at 91 Daniels Hole Road in Wainscott. For more information, call 631-537-0400 or visit www.arfhamptons.org.
