Year after year, hundreds of East End residents and visitors come out to Coopers Beach
in Southampton Village
to take a dip in the frigid Atlantic
Ocean while supporting a local Hamptons organization. The 11th Annual Polar Bear Plunge will begin promptly at 10 a.m. on December 13, 2014, and proceeds will benefit of Human Resources of the Hamptons
In order to participate in the fundraising event, plungers must find friends, family, neighbors, and community members to sponsor them in their pursuit to brave the icy ocean. Participants who collect at least $25 are waived of the registration fee, and those who don't will be required to pay for registration. This year, United States Marine Core are even taking the Hamptons dip.
On the day of the event, plungers must sign a waiver, and participants under the age of 18 must also have the form signed by a parent.

Individuals, teams, friends, families, and neighbors are all welcome to participate in the event or come to watch, and free refreshments will be served at the Survivor's Celebration afterwards, where plungers can warm up with coffee, hot chocolate, soup, and more.
The mission of Human Resources of the Hamptons is to help those in need, without discrimination, including those who face poverty, hunger, illness or homelessness. HRH provides assistance to over 6000 people yearly and the Polar Bear Plunge is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year.
