Governor Andrew Cuomo recently announced that New York State will receive more than $4.3 million in funding for programs that serve domestic violence victims as part of the Federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act. The Retreat, an East Hampton based not-for-profit domestic violence services agency, will receive $75,250 of the funding, which will support a bilingual hotline counselor, bilingual legal advocate and bilingual counselor.
"Too many families experience violence at home, and my administration has made it a priority to help New Yorkers break this cycle of abuse," Governor Cuomo said. "This funding will support proven programs that are designed to help victims and combat the problem of domestic violence all across this state."
The Federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act supports the establishment, maintenance, and expansion of programs to prevent domestic violence. It also provides immediate shelter and support services for all victims of domestic violence and their children, as well as specialized services for underserved populations throughout the state.
"The Retreat is grateful for the funding provided through the Federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act," expressed Karen Lombri, Director of Non-Residential Services at The Retreat. "These much needed funds will help The Retreat maintain and expand our core services of hotline, counseling and legal advocacy for English and Spanish speaking adult victims of domestic violence as well as children who witnessed traumatic events and have been emotionally impacted by domestic violence on the East End."

Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
