In celebration of Sag Harbor’s nautical history, community members, tourists, and the like will flock to the biggest block party on the shore. The 2014 HarborFest bash will be held from Friday, September 12, 2014 through Sunday, September 14, 2014.
Sag Harbor’s Chamber of Commerce is expecting attendees to “come early and stay late!” The family-fun event will feature whale boat races and clam shucking contests as well as a rock climbing wall, a bounce castle, a dunk tank and much more.
As attendees enjoy endless entertainment on the Village’s famous Long Wharf, they can also enjoy local tastes from Sag Harbor food vendors and a series of nautical-themed exhibits.
For the first time ever, the weekend-long event will be highlighted with a live concert at Havens Beach. As the sun goes down on Saturday night, performances from Gene Casey and The Lone Sharks, The Hoodoo Loungers and Hopefully Forgiven will be turning the music up. Special guest singers are also expected.
Free, unlimited parking will be offered throughout the weekend at Havens Beach as well as a free trolley service through the town.
Havens Beach is located on Havens Beach Road in Sag Harbor. For a complete list of the weekend’s events, and their specific locations, visit sagharborchamber.com.
