The Shinnecock Nation Cultural Center and Museum, Long Island’s only Native-American owned and operated museum, will host their 13th Annual Strawberry Harvest Festival on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Attendees will celebrate summer with strawberries, games, performances, and more at this free, family-fun, outdoor event.
Highlights include children’s games, storytelling and crafts and traditional skills demonstrations as well as a guided tour of the museum and Wikun Village, a 17th to 18th century Shinnecock village reconstruction.
Wile experiencing native arts and foods, like Indian tacos and Shinnecock-style strawberry shortcake, attendees will have the opportunity to shop for authentic Native American hand-crafted pieces.
As part of this event, the Shinnecock Nation Cultural Center and Museum hopes to continue positively impacting the community by providing children and parents the opportunity to learn and have fun in a culturally-rich environment.
The Shinnecock Museum is located at Montauk Highway and West Gate Road in Southampton. For more information, visit www.shinnecockmuseum.com.
