East Hampton’s The Retreat Hires New Chief Financial Officer

Nicole Barylski

"I always knew that I would return to Long Island," said The Retreat's new Chief Financial Officer, Patrice Dalton. "The surprise of finding that job announcement—and the timing of it—was just unbelievable."

After years of working in California on projects that included working toward curing major diseases, Dalton is returning to her Long Island roots, coincidentally to work for one of her favorite nonprofits. She will bring finance, staffing, budgeting, and strategic leadership skills to the foundation, which she gained during her versatile career as an executive for large pharmaceutical and biotech corporations. Dalton was looking for the best way to donate furniture to the East End domestic violence prevention group through its thrift store website when fate occurred and she came across the CFO position.

"I am so excited to now be working for The Retreat because the work that this organization does is so passionately life-affirming." Dalton is grateful for the early prevention education she acquired from the Long Island charity. It gave her the tools to identify and address signs of domestic violence, a common occurrence among co-workers as her career progressed.

One of the biggest reasons she is thrilled to join The Retreat is the passionate staff. "I can feel it all around me—people's dedication to this cause... from the Board members to every person we have on staff, to volunteers at the Shelter, to the educators and the people running the Thrift Store—this is an organization dedicated to helping people," noted Dalton. "The volume and velocity of activities here is incredible."

The Retreat provides domestic violence services and support for victims of domestic crimes on eastern Long Island and beyond.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
