Being energy efficient is not only good for the environment, but it also has many other positive effects. The Town of Southampton, Renewable Energy Long Island and LIPA are sponsoring a free seminar to teach residents the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency applications. The seminar will be held at the Hampton Bays Senior Center on Thursday, December 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
According to the Department of Energy, each year, much of the energy the U.S. consumes is wasted through transmission, heat loss and ineffective technology, which wastes American families and businesses money, and leads to increased carbon pollution. Energy efficiency is one of the easiest and most cost-effective methods to fight climate change, reduce energy costs and clean the air we breathe.
The Town notes three major benefits of having a house that is energy efficient are energy efficient homes save you money, they are more comfortable homes, and the warm air from your furnace stays inside the house and doesn’t escape as easily.
Some of the topics the seminar will cover are Solar Hot Water and Solar Electric Systems, Energy Efficiency Home Upgrades, and Energy Efficient Lighting and Appliances.
Learn how you can do your part to create a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
