“The Southampton Inn wanted to get involved with Toys for Tots for the simple reason that although we live in a town and area on Long Island that is viewed as one of the most desirable in the nation, it is easy to forget that within our own community there are still families and children in need,” said Priscilla Karpin, Director of Sales at the Southampton Inn.
The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program delivers a message of hope and provides a happy holiday experience for children in need. Communities come together to campaign for new, unwrapped toys, which are given to less fortunate children in the area and the Southampton Inn has joined that campaign. They are serving as a drop off spot for donations until Monday, December 16, which is when the gifts will be collected and distributed to ensure they are delivered on time for Christmas.
“It is our very simple way in asking the local community to remember what the Holidays are supposed to mean, to give thanks and be grateful, and to help those that truly need it,” explained Karpin.
The gifts will be given to children ages newborn to 12, throughout Suffolk County. “The great thing about being involved as a drop-site is we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so anyone is welcome to come in and donate at any time,” noted Karpin.
The Southampton Inn is providing everyone who donates with a buy one get one free breakfast coupon for the on-site restaurant, Oso at the Southampton Inn, which is open daily from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
