Hamptons non-profit East Hampton Healthcare Foundation is sponsoring “Rethink Aging,” a free educational health forum, on Saturday, October 5th, from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The forum which is being held at the East Hampton Village Emergency Services Building, will address the issue of aging on the East End.
“Aging is a process that will always be with us. Conceptions of aging, the contributions older people can make to society, and how to live ‘the life well lived’ are issues that we all face,” noted Sheila Rogers, Director of the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation. “The medical professionals and practitioners who will speak at the ‘Rethink Aging’ forum will offer us the tools we can use in order to thrive—in spite of the physical and mental challenges that aging brings.”
Associate Professor in the Department of Geriatrics and Adult Development at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Eileen H. Callahan, MD, will serve as Keynote Speaker. She will be joined by Rheumatologist Elaine Karis, MD; Ophthalmologist Louis D. Pizzarello, MD; Gerontologist Charles Guida, MD; and Gerard M. Turino, MD, Pulmonologist and President, East Hampton Healthcare Foundation
Other speakers will include Ann M. Silver, RD, Patia Cunningham, E-RYT, and Erik Peterson, PT, who will speak about the practice of yoga, nutrition and physical therapy. The program will finish with a talk by Howard John Lebwith, DDS (retired).
A free light breakfast buffet and coffee will be served from 8:30 to 9 am. The forum is free of charge but seating is limited and advanced registration is requested. To register, call the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation at 631-324-8943 or email [email protected].
