It was an eventful holiday weekend for Hamptons' police officers. (Photo: Nicole B. Brewer)
For some reason the Southampton Town Police Department was extra busy over the holiday weekend with 27 arrests ranging from littering - what could the woman be littering that was so bad she was arrested - to serious offensives like DWI's and a bit of lewd behavior. Maybe too much celebrating America's Independence in the Hamptons this year?
Something that really shouldn't come as a surprise, most of the alcohol related offensives like open alcohol, drinking in public, etc. were by men and women under the age of 26. Apparently they haven't learned to finish their drink before leaving the bar.
It seems like waiting in line for the bathroom was too much of a hassle during the holiday weekend because six men, ranging in age from 22 to 31, were arrested for urinating in public. Thought the line to the men's room was always shorter?
There were seven drug related arrests for cocaine, ecstasy, and as the Southampton Town Police Department spells it, marihuana. There was one person who was hoping for a hallucinogenic happening caught with ketamine, which after a little research is typically used as a sedative pre-surgery. How does one even come about finding ketamine or think that sounds like a good idea?
Two more folks made the dumb crooks line-up getting arrested for public lewdness at Tiana Beach. Guess they were feeling frisky and went for a romp. Must have been a sandy ride back to the station.
My guess is Southampton Town Police Department is hoping for a less eventful Labor Day Weekend.

Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
