Rabbi David Saperstein, Director Emeritus of the Religious Action Center (RAC), will visit Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor on July 20 – 21. The overarching theme of his weekend in the Hamptons is “Jewish Values in a Time of Crisis.” 7/20, 7:30 pm, Rabbi Saperstein will present a sermon entitled, “Being the Hand of G-d: Jewish Social Justice in a Time of Crisis and Opportunity.” 7/21, Saturday, during Shabbat morning services at 10 am, he will give a D’var Torah on Parashat Devarim, and lead a Torah study at noon entitled “How Jewish Law Evolved: Insights from Jewish Social Justice Texts.”

Cracked Actor will pay tribute to the late Tom Petty, and his de-facto band The Heartbreakers. This two-hour showcase will span the almost 40-year career of a master of concise, melodic songwriting, and his effortlessly accomplished ensemble - from the band’s self-titled 1976 debut Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, right up until 2014's Hypnotic Eye. Cracked Actor, initially paying tribute to David Bowie, has since expanded their repertoire to include Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, Marc Bolan and T-Rex, to name just a few.
