It's quick-service casual at Sunset Café. There's a new chef at The Seafood Barge. Check out the new items on the menu at Rowdy Hall and Harbor Bistro. Restaurants are making plans for Mother's Day – now's the time to set your reservations.

New: Sunset Café

In 2007, Carrie Coakley opened Sunset Café (49 Sunset Ave., Westhampton Beach, 631-288-3010) in the Village of Westhampton Beach. It is a quick-service, casual cafe featuring healthy, new-American baked goods, breakfast specialties, salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups, chili and afternoon treats. The Café also serves fine, organic coffees, cappuccinos and concoctions. Sit comfortably at a small table of four or relax in the cozy nook where there are two sofa chairs next to a fireplace. The children can remain occupied in the kid's corner complete with games and toys. Check your email on one of their three computers or bring your own and take advantage of the free wi-fi service. Sunset Café is open seven days a week. Monday through Thursday they are open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Seafood Barge Announces New Chef Noah Schwartz

The Seafood Barge (62980 Main Road, Southold, 631-765-3010) has announced the appointment of Noah Schwartz to the position of Executive Chef. Schwartz is a native Long Islander and a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. Schwartz creates exciting dishes at the Seafood Barge - always utilizing the area's fresh seafood and produce. Appetizer selections include: calamari fritto misso with fennel, green beans and lemon aioli; and baked oysters with basil, garlic and parmesan. The entrée portion of the menu includes classic fried seafood like jumbo shrimp, sea scallops and local flounder. The Seafood Barge is open in season seven days a week, serving lunch Monday through Friday, from 12 noon to 3 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and dinner Sunday through Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

New Lunch And Dinner Menu Items At Rowdy Hall

Rowdy Hall (10 Main Street in the Parrish Mews, East Hampton, 631-324-8555) has added some new menu items to their lunch and dinner menu. The menu items include Charred Calamari Salad with treviso, chick peas, and champagne vinaigrette at $10, Fried Goat's Cheese with baby arugula, tomatoes, toasted walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette at $10. Meatloaf with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and haricots verts at $18.50, Monkfish with lemon-orzo, grilled asparagus and beurre blanc at $22, and Hanger Steak with fingerling potatoes, mushrooms and salsa verde at $22. Rowdy Hall is open for lunch seven days a week from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m., for dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

La Fondita Opens For 2008 Season

La Fondita (74 Montauk Highway, Amagansett, 631-267-8800) will open for the 2008 season on Friday, May 2. They will be open Thursday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Bedell Cellars Wine Dinner At The Jamesport Manor

Bedell Cellars (36225 Main Road, Cutchogue) wines will be featured at a wine dinner on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at The Jamesport Manor (370 Manor Lane, Jamesport). The cost of the dinner is $75 per person, plus tax and tip. The dinner includes five courses paired with Bedell Cellars wines.

Mother's Day At The Patio At 54 Main

The Patio at 54 Main (54 Main Street, Westhampton Beach, 631-288-0100) will offer a special four-course prix fixe menu for Mother's Day on Sunday, May 11. Cost of the dinner is $35 per person and half-price for children under 12, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are available from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and can be made online at www.opentable.com. The regular a la carte menu will also be offered. In addition, diners who purchase a $100 gift certificate before Mother's Day will receive a complimentary $25 gift certificate redeemable at The Patio at 54 Main or Margarita Grille in Westhampton Beach.

Stonewalls Restaurant Presents A Mother's Day Feast

Stonewalls Restaurant (967 Reeves Avenue, Riverhead, 631-506-0777) presents a special Mother's Day menu on Sunday, May 11, beginning at 12 noon. The three-course prix fixe ranges from $48 to $55 per person depending on the selected entrée. Menu items may change according to the market.

Harbor Bistro Honors Moms With A Special Brunch And $30 Prix Fixe

Harbor Bistro (313 Three Mile Harbor Road, East Hampton, 631-324-7300) will celebrate Mother's Day with a special brunch and prix fixe on Sunday, May 11. The brunch will be available from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and will include a Bloody Mary or mimosa for Moms. The three-course $30 prix fixe will be offered from 12 noon to 8 p.m. The regular menu will also be available after 3 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
