With winter weather essentially keeping East Enders inside, one Shelter Island inn is focusing on fitness during a relaxing yoga retreat guided by Heidi Kristoffer, one of America’s top yoga instructors. On Friday, February 19th through Sunday, February 21st, The Chequit will welcome Wellness Weekend guests for a journey where they will focus on clearing the mind and discovering personal intentions, and search for an intense sense of balance and wellness.
“David and I were inspired by everyone’s desire to focus on health and wellness in the New Year, so we created this special Wellness Weekend at The Chequit,” explained Salt Hotels’ Co-Founder and Creative Director, Kevin O’Shea. Retreat attendees will find their inner Zen during intimate yoga sessions and meditation classes, paired with nutritious and delicious signature breakfast and meals from Red Maple, and much more.
“We thought offering a weekend learning about personal balance and fitness, coupled with the quiet beauty and tranquility of Shelter Island in the winter, would be the perfect way to spend a February weekend and stick to those resolutions,” added O’Shea.
Kristoffer, who was named one of Shape Magazine’s “50 Hottest Female Trainers in America – 2014,” will lead yogis on a comprehensive awakening of the mind, body and soul. Throughout the weekend, participants will enjoy a Welcome Reception, Morning Yoga Sessions, Intentional Journaling, Afternoon Meditation Session, Evening Cocktails, and more.
Package rates begin at $750.
The Chequit is located at 23 Grand Avenue in Shelter Island Heights. To reserve a room and spot in the Wellness Weekend, call 631-749-0018 or visit www.thechequit.com.
